It’s time for The Flying Scotsman to take the big stage again at the Jack’s World Series of Darts Finals at the AFAS Live in Amsterdam. Gary comes into the tournament as 8th seed, with his best World Series performance of 2022 coming back in June at the Viaplay Nordic Darts Masters where, after a nervy start against Swede Daniel Larsson, Gary found his feet and ended up reaching the final of the event before being overpowered 11-5 by Dimitri van den Bergh, who has arguably been the stand out player of this year’s WS so far.

Gary hasn’t been involved in the most recent World Series events, including the Dutch Darts Masters and three events that took place in Australia and New Zealand.

His best result in the World Series Finals was back in 2017, when he finished runner up to the man who had denied him a third consecutive world title earlier in the year, Michael Van Gerwen.

His opponent comes in the form of ‘The Titan’ Dirk van Duijvenbode, who defeated ‘Hopes’ Haupai Puha 6-5 on Friday Night. Dirk didn’t hit his best form, but averaged 92 in the victory. Dirk also ranks in the higher echelons of 180s averaged per leg this year in PDC Competitions.

The match is the first of the Saturday Session, getting underway at approximately 6pm BST and live coverage will be available on ITV3 in the UK and overseas on the PDC’s Official Partners DAZN and ViaPlay, as well as on PDCtv (excluding certain countries).

We’re all raring to see Gary return to action, so leave your messages of luck for The Flying Scotsman below ahead of his return to the big stage.
