In a repeat of two World Championship Finals, Gary Anderson defeated Adrian Lewis on night two of the 2022 PDC World Darts Championships (Thursday 16th Dec)

Armed with his new protoype darts in hand, Anderson went off firing as he got up and running with a 116 checkout to go within a leg of the opening set. But back came Lewis, reeling off two consecutive legs to seal the opening set.

Anderson would miss the bullseye for a 167 checkout in the opening leg of the second set, but it would not prove costly as he wrapped it up without reply.

‘The Flying Scotsman’ would hit the front with a much improved third set. His average would be raised to the mid 90’s mark as he turned on the afterburners, with the deal sealed on a magnificent double-double 92 checkout.

Lewis would miss another handful of doubles before the night was out as Anderson punished in a much-improved final set, to seal his post-Christmas return to the Alexandra Palace.

He will now return after the Christmas break to face either Chris Landman or Ian White
