Chris Dobey came back from 2-0 down to secure his post-Christmas return to the Alexandra Palace in round three of the PDC World Championships, and a meeting with three-time World Champion
Michael van Gerwen.

After a topsy-turvy opening set, Dobey would miss three darts at the double for the set, allow
Rodriguez to swoop on an 88 checkout to take the early initiative.
The double trouble continued for Dobey in set two as he squandered another two darts at the outer
ring to make things level. The young Austrian once again keeping his cool to double his cushion and
go a set away from round three.
Dobey would respond in set three to half the deficit and extend the evening’s entertainment.

‘Hollywood’ would show his resolve once again in the fourth set as he came from two legs down to
steal it from under the nose of RJR and take it to a decider.

The comeback would be completed in set five with Dobey finding his scoring power at just the right
time to take the lead for the first time. An 80 checkout from Rodriguez would peg him back, but the set would be sealed 3-1 as Dobey set up a third round meeting with Michael van Gerwen.
