Michael Smith and Gary Anderson produced great runs at the weekend as they both reached Quarter Finals and Semi-Finals respectively.
Michael Smith reached the Semi-Finals of PDC Players Championship 25 on Saturday as ‘Bullyboy’ just fell short to Nathan Aspinall in the Semi Final where he lost 7-5. Michael defeated Gerwyn Price, Mensur Suljovic and Ross Smith on route and averaged 100.4 against Suljovic in a 6-2 victory. Smith has secured his spot at Minehead by many means, but he definitely showed his class and talent.
Gary Anderson reached the Quarter Finals of PDC Players Championship 26 at the Barney Metrodome on Sunday as he bids to book his spot at the PDC Players Championships in Minehead coming up in November. The ‘Scotsman’ was handed a disastrous draw on Saturday where he was edged out 6-5 by Peter Wright in the first round of PDC Players Championship 25.
He put that behind him where he defeated Mark Dudbridge (106 average), Ronny Huybrechts (102.3 average), Daryl Gurney, James Richardson (108.7 average, and then lost to Steve West with a 104 average.
Gary produced four ton-plus averages on the day, and showed his quality.
