Gary Anderson would return with a bang on the opening night of the 2022 Premier League in Cardiff as he defeated Michael van Gerwen in the fourth game of the evening.

After conceding the first leg, Anderson would take two consecutive legs on tops to put MvG on the
back foot. A 100 checkout would claw the Dutchman level before Anderson began to shift up the gears. A 13-darter followed by an 80-checkout extending his cushion. Van Gerwen would draw level once again before tops would come to the aid of Anderson again as he sailed into the semis.
He would then face reigning World Champion and former World Cup winning teammate, Peter
Wright. After a win over Michael Smith earlier in the night, Wright to move into a 3-1 lead.

Despite an improved 17-darter from ‘Ando’, Wright to extend his lead to 5-2 with Anderson on the
brink. But a spectacular 155 checkout followed by a 91 on the bull hauled the Scot to within a leg,
before he would eventually send the match to a decider.
With Anderson perched on double 18, Wright would take out a 76, last dart in hand, to seal a
memorable victory. Which would later see him crowned night one champion in Cardiff.

Gary Anderson is back this weekend at the furat Players Championships of 2022.

The Premier league returns next Thursday in Liverpool where Gary faces Gerwyn Price in game 4.
