The PDC World Championships gets underway in a few hours time, with 4 of our players competing out of a 96 player field. Mark McGeeney kicks things off for us against Matt Campbell tomorrow evening (Saturday) live on Sky Sports.

Mark has been in great form all year, which included reaching Semi-Finals of a PDC Pro Tour event, and qualyifing for the UK Open, Players Championship Finals and the PDC World Championships. Mark will look forward to the test and if he can get past Campbell, he will face Ricky Evans in round two.

Michael Smith who will be hoping to go one better than last year where he reached the final. He will get his opening game underway on Sunday evening where he will face either Luke Woodhouse or Paul Lim. Michael has been in blistering form all year, reaching the World Matchplay final, Us Darts Masters final and the Grand Slam Of Darts, reach the Quarter Final.

Gary Anderson will get his campaign underway against either Brendan Dolan or Nitin Kumar on Monday evening. Gary, who has struggled all year really for form due to back injuries. He did win the PDC World Cup Of Darts with Peter Wright, and also reached the Quarter Finals of the Grand Slam. Gary reached the Semi-Finals of the World’s last year, losing out to Michael van Gerwen. Fingers crossed he can win his third world title.

Chris Dobey will take on either Ron Meulenkamp or Ben Robb in his first game on Thursday evening. Chris has been in phenomenal form all year, reaching the World Grand Prix final, Players Championship finals Semi Final and hitting a nine darter. Dobey is looking forward to getting up there and hopefully play like he did last year as he lost out to Gary in the last 16 in a great game.
