Gary Anderson got back on track for a play-off push as he defeated Michael van Gerwen in a thrilling encounter at the Marshall Arena.

Anderson was quick out the blocks, breaking the van Gerwen throw to get off to a perfect start. But the five time Premier League would break straight back to restore parity.

We would see a third break of throw in just the third leg of the match as Anderson took out double 12 to re-establish the lead. The pendulum would swing the way of Michael van Gerwen as he reeled of two legs in a row to establish a lead.

Anderson would repeat the feat by reeling off two consecutive legs of his own to go within a leg of a draw. A 96 checkout would put daylight between the two for the first time with van Gerwen struggling to regain a football.

After one missed dart at double, ‘The Flying Scotsman’ would hammer home a 101 checkout to seal his first win over the Dutchman in the last eight attempts.

Fixtures are yet to be decided post judgement night, but will be released in the near future with the players set to return tomorrow evening.
