Dunvegan’s Gary Anderson played out an entertaining draw with Nathan Aspinall on the penultimate night of Premier League Darts action.

Coming from 3-1 and 6-4 down, The Flying Scotsman took a share of the spoils, denying Aspinall a second win of the week.

Aspinall got the early break in the first leg, before holding to take a 2-0 lead. However, an excellent leg from Anderson saw him leave 41 after nine, eventually leading to a double 10 for a 12 dart leg. The Asp though held in the next leg, hitting a 110 checkout to go 3-1 ahead.

The Flying Scotsman seemed to gain the advantage in the next three legs. An 80 checkout saw him cut the gap to one, before a fantastic leg saw him leave double 12 after nine. He found double 6 for an 11 to level, before a fantastic 118 checkout on double 19 gave him the lead for the first time.

The Asp though hit back, levelling in the eighth leg, before taking advantage of missed darts from Anderson in the ninth to retake the lead. A 121 checkout on the bullseye saw him go 6-4 in front, but the two time winner would not go down without a fight.

After holding in 14 darts, both missed doubles to win the 12th. This time, it was Anderson who got the job done, hitting double ten to get level at 6-6. He then went ahead in the 13th, finding a brilliant 112 checkout to get the point, before missing bullseye for a spectacular 129 to win the game. Aspinall took out tens to level, bringing a fantastic game to an end.

Thursday night sees Anderson finish his Premier League campaign, and plays James Wade in the battle for seventh and eighth. The match is on first, just after 7pm BST.
