Dunvegan Darts’ Gary Anderson came from behind to secure a draw against Michael van Gerwen on night seven of the 2021 Premier League Darts.

The two time winner of the event was 5-3 down to MvG, but rallied to get a point that keeps him in touching distance of the Play-Offs. He’s only outside the top four on legs won against the throw.
MvG missed two darts to win the opening leg, and Anderson took advantage, hitting tops for an 80 shot to go 1-0 in front. Van Gerwen however broke straight back, cleaning up 25 for a 14 darter.
The Flying Scotsman had a chance to break in the third leg, but missed bull for a 129 outshot. Double 12 was found by Van Gerwen to hold, with three further holds seeing the match still level at 3-3.

In the seventh leg, The Green Machine missed six darts for the leg, while Anderson missed double 14 to pinch it. Eventually, the world number two hit double five to lead 4-3. The Flying Scotsman then missed five darts in the eighth leg, and MvG took advantage, hitting double nine for an 18 dart break and to go 5-3 ahead.

However, Anderson fought back hard to keep in the match. Once again Van Gerwen missed darts to win a leg, this time two in the ninth to guarantee a point. Anderson punished, hitting tops for a 50 outshot to break back immediately, and then holding to level the match at 5-5.

MvG eventually got his point with a comfortable 14 dart hold, before leaving 32 after 12 to potentially win it in leg 12. However, Anderson kept his call, checking out 68 on double top to share the spoils.

Although in sixth place in the table, legs won against the throw separates Anderson and Jose De Sousa from Jonny Clayton in fourth. The Flying Scotsman continues his campaign against league leader Dimitri Van den Bergh tomorrow. The match is scheduled to be second on stage, at around 19.50 BST.
